How to choose a location for your branding shoot
Are you thinking about booking a branding photo shoot, but aren’t sure where you like the shoot to take place? I know it can feel overwhelming to plan and organise your shoot, and that’s why I’ll be there to help you every step of the way. So I thought I’d write a blog post about how to choose a location for your branding shoot.
My clients decide on the location for different reasons. Sometimes it's because they just love the aesthetic of a place or it resonates more with their brand and other times they just don't know what would work well.
In cases like that, I usually ask them some questions and then give them a few recommendations. I will also send you a branding questionnaire once you booked your branding shoot.
Here are some things you should think about before you pick a location for your shoot:
What is the vibe you want to portray? Is your brand more classy business-like or casual, relaxed and homey? Or is it quirky and creative?
Do you prefer indoors or outdoors? Maybe a bit of both?
Would you like any specific colour in your images?
What do you actually want to show in your photos? You at work or out and about?
Do you want detail shots/product shots?
I know it sounds like a lot, but once you've answered those questions you may have a clearer picture of where you'd like your shoot to take place. But don't worry, even if you're still not sure I can definitely help you with your search. I've been shooting in and around London for over 8 years now and know the city quite well, which means I can suggest places according to your answers/briefing or help you with where to look for indoor shooting locations.
